Privacy Policy — Where Did I Save It?

Where Did I Save It? ("the app") is developed by Aurevix. This policy explains what information the app stores, what leaves your device, and how third-party services used in the app handle data.

Your items, photos, and locations

The app helps you remember where you keep things — names, notes, categories, tags, reminders, location hierarchies (rooms, shelves, drawers, boxes), and optional photos. All of this is stored locally on your device in the app's private storage. We do not operate a backend, and your inventory data is not uploaded to our servers.

Local app data

The app may store the following on your device:

• Item names, notes, categories, tags, and reminder dates you enter.
• Your location and box hierarchy (areas, rooms, shelves, drawers, boxes).
• Photos you choose to attach to items, saved in the app's private folder.
• App settings such as theme preference and starred items.
• QR labels you generate for boxes (processed on device).

You can delete individual items or wipe all local data from within the app. Uninstalling the app removes its local data from your device.

Camera and storage permissions

The app may request camera access so you can take photos of items, and storage access so photos can be saved locally. These permissions are used only for features you initiate inside the app. Photos are not uploaded to our servers.

Manual backups

If you use the export feature, the app writes a backup file to a location you choose on your device (for example, Downloads). We do not receive or store exported backup files.

Third-party services (ads and analytics)

The app is free and supported by ads. It uses Google AdMob and the Firebase SDK. These services may collect and share data with Google for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention, including:

• Device or other identifiers (such as the Android advertising ID)
• App interactions (such as taps, screen views, and ad impressions)
• App performance and diagnostic data
• Approximate location derived from IP address

This data is processed by Google under its own policies. It is not used to access, upload, or read your item names, photos, locations, or other inventory data stored in the app. The app is configured as not directed at children. Learn more:

What the app does not do

• No account creation, sign-in, or user profile.
• No automatic cloud upload of your items, photos, or locations.
• No selling or sharing of your inventory data with third parties.
• No GPS or precise location tracking.

Children's privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the update will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
